BUYERS GUIDE

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND ONLY BUY "ONLY" GREAT MOVIES

Have you ever felt so duped after buying and watching an african movie you purchased from a store because the movie was absolutely crap, well let me just say, after being duped and bamboozled for many times. I know what to look for and what not to look for.

Save yourself the time, headache and money by reading reviews first before purchasing a movie, unless you are certain of the actors previous performance and know you'll get your monies worth.
Personally i hate junk and unless a movie is highly rated (e.g 8/10) i wont buy it nor bother to own it. Save yourselve and read the numerous blogs out there, which give great reviews (incl. mine) and save yourself the headache, time, money and space in your video library.

In 2009 after careful consideration i have also decided to call out the Producers who do a bad job. I cant put all blame on bad actors.

Its come to my realization that sometimes some of the actors are very good and yet the producer/director cant challenge them enough and makes the movie suck. Sometimes i feel great actors like Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, Mercy Johnson, Magid Michel, Jim Iyke talent has improved over time yet they have hit a ceiling where they can not be challenged enough by the directors to make them shine. As an avid movie watcher, I truly get frustruated with that. Rubbish movies are not all to be blamed on the actors who are acting it, however no denying that there are loads of luckluster actors/tresses in the industry and i know the difference and shall call them out to. (Holla!)
ALL WE AS AN AUDIENCE ASK FOR IS THAT YOU TAKE YOUR JOBS SERIOUSLY AND NOT JUST DO IT JUST FOR THE MONEY, INVEST IN SOME ACTING LESSONS IF YOU HAVE TO, AND GIVE US OUR MONIES WORTH AND LET US BELIEVE IN THE CHARACTER U PLAY. IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO GIVE THE AUDIENCE YOUR BEST, ABEG STAY AWAY FROM FILMING LOCATIONS. THE GOAL OF THIS BLOG IS TO GIVE REVIEWS ON MOVIES I HAVE WATCHED AND RATED AND YOU CAN MAKE THE JUDGEMENT CALL OF WHETHER YOU WANT TO BUY IT OR NOT.

Quote from Mr M.O Ene

{It is amazing that Nollywood movies are still packaged as in as many parts as Pt 2,3, 4 etc. It makes no sense when the parts are on the same disc! I guess old habits die slowly. The ploy of separating and stretching movies into four parts is becoming ridiculous. There is no plot that cannot be packages in one disc and under 2 hours. Anything extra is a pathetic ploy to defraud people, and it creates unsatisfied customers who will tend to buy cheap reprints, watch movies free on the Internet or cable channels, or simply tune off. As they say in Igbo, when a mountain begins to hurt the waist, mountaineers will learn to scale and stop.

I warned that Nollywood must avoid the pitfalls of Indian and Chinese movies: monotonous and predictable. Bollywood took that cue and emerged with “Slumdog Millionaire,” which won EIGHT Oscars on Sunday, February 22, 2009. Thanks to British hands and French support, Bollywood has seen the light in casting from published materials, not back-of-envelope scripts, and using fresh faces in standard-format movies.

Most of the time i may refer to actors by first name basis, if you cant recognise the names then maybe you not an avid Nollywood Movie watcher - with time if you stick to it - you will get to know them.
