So though this blog is mostly strictly about movies - every now and then i will switch it up and post a story that has moved me and I swear to you no story has moved me so heavily (apart from MJs death) as much as the Story of Shaniya Davis.

I LOVE KIDS IMMENSELY AND HAVE SUCH STRONG PASSION FOR THEM - I GET SO BROKEN HEARTED WHEN I HEAR SUCH STORIES. I mean how do you look in such a sweet child face such as this and kill her. Howwwwww.???

Shaniya Davis’s story starts out sad. Shaniya was the product of a one-night stand between Antoinette Davis and Bradley Lockhart. Bradley, her father, raised her until Antoinette proved recently that she could give baby Shaniya a good home. Not wanting his little girl to grow up without a female role model, Bradley allowed baby Shaniya to go live with her mom.This wonderful, thoughtful, father made a big mistake. Shaniya’s father, Bradley Lockhart cared for the young child up until recently. He allowed his daughter to go live with her biological mother after she proved to him that she could give their daughter a stable home.

Shaniya’s story gets even worse as Antoinette Davis pimped her very own daughter out.

.

On Tuesday Nov 10th Shaniya disappeared from her mothers home. Her mother reported her missing and thus began the search. Six days later on Monday Nov 16th, Shaniya's body was found in a wooded area just south of Sanford. The 5year old had been raped and strangled.

She was also arrested 2 days before her baby’s body was found discarded along a North Carolina Highway. She was charged with human trafficking, prostitution, and child abuse.

Antoinette Davis reported Shaniya Davis missing a week before her body was found. Police searched high and low for the 5 year old, and the last time she was seen alive was with Mario McNeill in a hotel surveillance camera. The story of Shaniya Davis so harrowing, I can’t even image as a father how Mr. Lockhart is feeling right now. He should know that none of this is his fault, and that authorities will work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served.

Shaniya Davis lived with her mother for five weeks. It is unclear how many times Antoinette Davis sold her daughter in sexual servitude. She faces charges of human trafficking, filing a false police report, and child abuse involving prostitution. Antoinette Davis called 911 after Mario McNeill left her home with the daughter and reported her daughter missing.

It is unclear whether or not Antoinette Davis will face additional charges, as she can also be prosecuted for felony murder as her actions of selling her daughter as a prostitute is a felony crime. Due to her actions, Shaniya Davis was murdered, and she can be held culpable in a court of law.

Shaniya’s mother Antoinette Davis is currently pregnant and behind bars - the father of that child is unknown yet. She has been charged with various felonies such as prostitution, filing a false police report, child abuse, and human trafficking. She faces up to 23 years in jail. Hopefully, she is given the maximum sentence.

This survellaince video was captured in a hotel in Sanford North Carolina. Mario McNeill was last seen with Shaniya Davis on a hotel security camera. He was carrying her, so it is quite possible that the child was not alive at the time the footage was taken.

Mario McNeill has been subsequently charged with the kidnapping, rape, and murder of baby Shaniya.

Shaniya was seen with him on Nov. 10, 2009, about an hour after she disappeared from her home in Fayetteville, about 40 miles away. The world would like to see him rot in prison. Abusing a helpless child is something that is unforgivable. Chances are, his prison mates will even give him a rough time because of his crime.

The Shaniya Davis story took the country by storm over the past week. Baby Shaniya went missing, and was subsequently found discarded along a North Carolina highway. Preliminary autopsy reports show that the 5 year old went through horrific torture, and then was killed the same day she was kidnapped.

Autopsy reports indicate that Shaniya Davis was asphyxiation, which means she was cut off from oxygen. How she died has not been revealed by authorities.McNeill went to court for the first time today. News about how his proceedings went on have not yet been released. This isn’t the first time that McNeill has been in trouble with the law. He was previously charged with various drug and assault charges. McNeill even went so far as to striking a police officer with his vehicle. He should have never been on the streets.

I just PURCHASED this movie today from my dealer (yall know i need a hit :lol: i want my 'stuff cos am twitching after a bad week of CRAP) - i dont have any qualms buying this movie, cos you know why - Its an Emem Isong and Lancelot Imaseun (The Governor) collabo and if you are an avid movie watcher like i am and watched anything they (Emem & Lancelot) have produced together in the past you will understand this is not money wasted at all (PRIVATE SIN, GAMES WOMEN PLAY, BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, EMOTIONAL CRACK ETC). Their movies is never less that 8/10 in my books. GO BUY IT.

My Review

Oh my God where do i start. well for starters i will say its a good movie BUT. Yeah the huuuuuuuuuuge BUT. The marketer or whomever put this together for the end results effed up big time - HE GOT ALL PARTS OF THE MOVIE SCENES JUMBLED UP WRONG. :lol: Its kinda funny to me actually, cos am thinking the marketer tried to be greedy and split the movie into 4 parts and sure messed up with jumbled up scenes which is going to do nothing but anger audience for such confusion.

Ok so yall know when a movie is shot - its shot in many scenes and at the end of the day when all its said and done the scenes are put to gether (who ever does this job am not quite sure - I refuse to believe Emem or Lancelot made this mistake). Whilst this is done some are deleted added etc - a whole lot of editing needs to be done to come up with great results.

Well for this movie that i purchased from my dealer, its a Part 1 & 2 with the assumption that 3&4 are not out yet (am like ok, i'll wait thats ok). So i got this Pt 1 & 2 . Popped in Pt 1 and watched and loved it (kinda reminds me of Emem and Lancelots other blockbuster "Games Men Play").

Then I eagerly put in Part 2 and i start to watch, then comes scenes in the movie that doesnt make sense, such as Ndidi (Omonis character) saying she has been raped and is now pregnant (and am thinking reallly? when was she raped I dont remember that scene) then another scene where Mercy makes a huge confession to Uche of what she had done to her - yet with the problem being so deep - Uche seems so calm about it and said she forgives Mercy (and am scratching my head thinking aint no way someone confesses a sin she has committed against me such huge and am just going to say "Oh i forgive you" just like that - at least at first as normal ppl would I'd show some shock and hurt a lil bit of dissapointement before i say i forgive you - so am thinking "am i missing a scene or something".

Many of the scenes in Part 2 were starting to confuse me and throw me off from where I left off in Part 1. So I had to rewatch Part 2 again to make sure i didnt miss anything and finally i came to a conclusion.

.

Who ever put this movie together, jumbled up the scenes, there are some parts of Part 4 & 5 in Part 2 and vice versa (:lol) the whole thing is kinda funny to me actually. This is where greed will get you Remmy Jes Production - maybe next time you will pay attention when putting all your scenes together or better yet, keep it to one part instead of four to waste our precious time. Now I hope you get ya monies worth. You need to be refunding some folks (Including me).

I know i wasted my money buying faulty product but thats okay, it happens to the best of us. Besides if you piece in the puzzle - you might get it and realise it is actually a great movie. :lol:

From the lil i saw in Pt 1 & 2, i think the story line was excellent, the cast were phenomenal (this is the first time i can say i enjoyed Omoni Obolis performance and thus my conclusion to how she performs is it depends on the director and the script or character she is playing - she did very well in this movie (she held the movie for the most part cos i guess she is part of the screenplay team) - now I can say i will start paying attention to her - she does have potential).

Uche Jumbo playing the abused wife was very convincing and I think she played it well. Loved It.

.

Mercy Johnson was funny as hell, she cracked me up the whole damn movie (there was less crying from her than we usually see as always) -

Desmond, Kalu and Yemi were just great and everybody else was "ok".

.

I still feel the story has not ended, who knows - maybe the are coming out with part 5, 6, 7 and 8. Aint no shame in these ppls game when it comes to getting their money. :lol:

I am sorry but I have never been a fan of Francis Duru. I feel "sometimes" he overacts. I just cant connect to his acting at all. And if you think Desmond Elliot or Mike Ezerounye screams their lungs out when emphasizing a point in their scenes, well brace your self with this this dude Francis Duru, you may wanna keep your fingers on your volume button on your remote, cos you surely need to lower the volume in every scene he is in, mute it or better yet forward all his scenes like i did as i watched it the second time. I do however think he'd be great on some stage play though - like some Shakespearean type stage role - but for movies - am just not a fan YET.

THANK U EMEM, LANCELOT (amongst few other top notch producer/directors) you always save the day when we are being bombarded with CRAP. Now we patiently wait for BURSTING OUT starring Genevieve Nnaji and Nse Ikpe Etim. Abeg put the cherry on the icing cake you have given us this year - just before christmas, so we can cuddle in our lil sofas this christmas and enjoy one more classic and Burst Out with Happiness for great entertainment.

However i still say you get on this RemmyJes folks cos your reputation is on the line with this mess in this movie. PPl will assume you messed up like that but i refuse to believe you did. Aint no way Emem Isong or Lancelot will put together a movie and jumble up scenes - Mbanu- i refuse to believe this

StoryLine

Lily is hawkish and vociferous so renowned for her sheer flangrancy. On the other spectrum, Lydia is calm and reserved, buttersed by her loving parents. With the experience of such a comfortable environment however, she still fells an innate unusual feelings: gets wierd dreams at night feels awkward in her actions, and a general mystery quite undefined. Two separate worlds, two separate personalities, puzzles incomprehensible.

The story line was good - but the production and direction and acting was overly dragged and just not on point. I cant rave over this movie like i would Guilty Pleasures, Reloaded, Keeping Faith etc etc..

Overly dragged and annoying. Not worth your dime (DONT SPEND YOUR PRECIOUS MONEY TO BUY IT) - same ole nonsense campus theme movies, masquerade make up, smokings like chimneys, pidgeon english, cult blah blah blah. Just not my type of movie. The very kind of movie theme i describe here -

The type of nollywood themes to stay away from but i gave it the benefit of doubt due to Ini and Desmond .

I got a question for nollywood "Why do they always think a supposed bad character that overly smoking constitutes someone being a bad girl/boy", I mean really" ???? - you did not convince me much - Its so annoying. Cant you direct a movie and protray a bad ruthless character (and convincing one at that) without necessarily making them smoke as much.

.

There were several bunch of very bad actors in this movie - not one bit convincing in their roles, but i leave you to watch it and make your judgement call. Though i understand pidgeon a lot, i'd advice the director to have subtitled the areas where so much pidgeon english was spoken by Ini and Tontoh. Not all the audience will get it. Either way the movie was simply not up to par in my books - I wasted my time watching this. Too damn dragged and they had the nerve to put it in 3 parts :lol: na wa ohhhhhh.

I respect Livinus Nnochire (man who played Lydias dad) and have always liked his acting, but the other lady who played Lydias mom - Cassandra Odita (thats another story) - bad acting is an understatement.

One scene made me laugh though, Ini Edo wearing some serious Long Winter WHITE boots. I almost choked laughing.

I mean at this pace of nonsensity we are no where near gonna get to SLUMDOG MILLONAIREs calibre of gaining an oscar. Yes i said an Oscar, because to be best in the world you need to use the best as your yardstick.

Be more creative in your writing, producing and directing (and the acting too). Nollywood is 20yrs plus now -please as part of a growing audience we ask - lets graduate from mediocre movies such as this right here (unless your target is to a very small group of ppl in naija). You can still have a small budget but still come out with something great that makes us audience walk away feeling good and that we got our monies worth. I REPEAT THIS IS NOT WORTH A DIME.

SKIN (A Very Touching South African Biopic Movie)

Well everyone who knows me knows I just dont love African movies from Nollywood (English, Yoruba, Igbo etc) of Ghana (English, Twi, Ga etc) but African movies across the continent or Hollywood movies that are african inspired.

I love South African movies, I love french movies from our francophone neighbors and love watchin them (subtitled ofcourse) - and Kenya is also coming up (nollywood better watch their back cos these other english speaking countries are not playing - they want to bite into this huge market share around the globe and I support them whole heartedly IF the movie is good.)

.

Sophie Okenedo (whom i respect as an actress as as such will support any good movie she does) has this new movie which i think is very good and i recommend you to look for it and watch it. It has already received a lot of nods at several film festivals. The story line is very good and based on a true story.

Synopsis to SKIN
Ten year-old Sandra is distinctly African looking. Her parents, Abraham and Sannie, are white Afrikaners, unaware of their black ancestry. They are shopkeepers in a remote area of the Eastern Transvaal and, despite Sandra’s mixed-race appearance, have lovingly brought her up as their ‘white’ little girl.Sandra is sent to a boarding school in the neighbouring town of Piet Retief, where her (white) brother Leon is also studying, but parents and teachers complain that she doesn’t belong. She is examined by State officials, reclassified as ‘Coloured’, and expelled from the school. Sandra’s parents are shocked, but Abraham fights through the courts to have the classification reversed.

The story becomes an international scandal and media pressure forces the law to change, so that Sandra becomes officially ‘White’ again.By the time she is 17, Sandra realises she is never going to be accepted by the white community. (the black actor is kinda cute - His name is Tony Kgoroge, hmm i need to explore more of these other non west african actors, i see we got a lot more cute actors & excellent actors than Jim Iyke, Majid Michel and the likes). The child actor who plays Sophie Okenedos role as a lil girl is also very good (her name is Ella Ramangwane) - I am so impressed with excellent AFRICAN child actors - we dont have too many in Nollywood - but hopefully one day we will.

I support all her good work. I own all of them and if you ask me which ones are the best, its very hard to choose.
